Eventide Precision Time Align Plug-in is a micro delay plugin that is primarily useful for adjusting your recordings to reduce phase issues, making your recordings sound fuller and have more character. Often when recording the same instrument with two microphones, such as drums or vocals, you may encounter phasing problems. When the two recordings are summed this often results in a characteristic “phaser” sound or simply a weaker sound.
This plugin helps solve this by allowing you to shift your audio files by increments as small as 1/64th of a sample. Most DAWs tend to only allow timing adjustments as small as a sample so this plugin gives you a much more precise amount of control. You can use the coarse control to get your recordings into the right area for timing and then use the fine control to get the precise right sound. This is a must have plugin for any producers who regularly record with two microphones.
