The GForce Software Oberheim OB-E is a sonically accurate recreation of the original eight-voice synthesizer, designed in collaboration with Tom Oberheim. More than simply a carbon copy of the original, the OB-E offers a unique experience as being the first software synth to receive the original creator’s seal of approval. Building on the foundation set, the new and updated OB-E features more attention to the musical inaccuracies, parts tolerances and analog character to create the most authentic software experience possible.
With musicality being the heart and soul of everything. A huge-sounding synthesizer, there is no limit to the range of diverse and unique sounds you can generate from the octaphonic architecture. A simple design, the OB-E is based around a combination of eight SEMs (Synthesizer expander module), each with two VCO’s, Pulse and Sawtooth waveforms, two ADS envelope generators, one LFO and a highly musical multimode filter. Each SEM performs in isolation as monophonic, but when combined with the other seven and performed on a polyphonic keyboard, you can expect to hear soaring leads, crushing bass notes and a thick wall-of-sound that is perfect for the modern musician.
Going beyond what was possible with the original hardware, the OB-E provides a host of contemporary features to keep up with the demands of the modern musician and producer. As well as now being Windows compatible, OB-E features a characterful analog delay that has been included with a range of parameters to control and edit. New and exclusive Drum Mode, Matrix reverb and over 700 factory presets make this the most complete software synth available.
